Any chance you'll be in the New York area next week? Join me Wednesday, October 29th for the EconWomen Conference In New York City.
The half-day conference focuses on my favorite topic - the economics of women-centered digital media. It's shaping up to be a must-attend event. Here are some of the speakers I'm really looking forward to hearing from:
Wenda Harris Millard - President, Media, and Co-CEO, Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia
Cathie Black - President, Hearst Magazines
Victoria Colligan - Founder, Ladies Who Launch
Joni Evans - Co-founder and CEO, wowOwow
David Liu - Co-founder, Chairman and CEO, The Knot
And those are just a few of the top name folks who will be there. Are you salivating yet? I am. Oops, dribbled a little on my chin.
If you're there, hunt me down and say hello. You can find out more and register for the EconWomen Conference here.
This is my first time blogging. I apologize if I'm doing this wrong. I'm a sophopmore in college and I'm having troble declaring a major.I was thinking about marketing but I wanted to get some advice from ladies who are already in the field. What have and could you do with a marketing degree. What has it done for you? Would you recommend it?

Wow! I will be there the following week! Lousy timing...for me. I just want to meet you, Holly.
Today am on a panel at a competitor's audio conference (won't mention them, here) discussing this very topic. I bet we have a lot of overlap.
You'll blog this, I assume? You have the best writing style. I always learn so much from you.
Glad to see you on Twitter now.
Hugs!

Malisa,
Marketing is a fascinating field. Having a degree in marketing will certainly be a plus if that's the direction you want to go, but I'd urge you to take a broad curriculum - psychology, journalism, economics - it all ties in with marketing.
