It's so true! My friends and I have been turned off my male investment advisors using tactics that (we guess) must be succeeding with male prospects. Happily, I've also met a few doing it right, and you are exactly right, it's very easy to stand out!

I've been in financial services for 25+ years and I always try to have both the husband and the wife in the room when I meet with my clients. All too often, however, the wife is just not interested. It's a challenge for me because I know the liklihood of her being on her own one day is very real. A time of grief is not when you want to be either searching for where your wealth is located or learning the basics of investing..or both. I struggle, however, with telling the wife that the liklihood that she will have to learn this stuff one day is, well, likely, especially if her husband is also in the room!
